EMF Detector reads your device's built-in magnetometer to measure and display magnetic field strength, and lets you record sessions of those readings. All sensor readings are processed on your device.
The app is for entertainment purposes only. It is not a scientific or safety instrument, and it makes no claims about health, safety, or exposure.
The app has no accounts and no sign-in. It does not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, or precise location. It does not access your camera or your microphone. It does not send your sensor readings or your recorded sessions to us or to anyone else.
Sessions you record — magnetic field readings and the times at which they were taken — are stored only on your device. They leave your device only if you choose to export a session, in which case the file goes wherever you send it.
Your settings, such as measurement unit, sound, vibration, and sensitivity, are stored on your device.
You can delete any recorded session inside the app. Deleting the app removes all of this data.
The free version of the app shows advertisements served by Google AdMob: optional rewarded video advertisements that you choose to watch to unlock a one-off export, and occasional full-screen interstitial advertisements between screens. The app does not display banner advertisements. Purchasing the one-time unlock removes the rewarded-ad prompt and interstitial advertisements.
To serve and measure these advertisements, Google may collect your IP address (which may be used to estimate your approximate location), your device's advertising identifier and other device-level identifiers, information about the advertisements you have seen and how you interact with them, general interaction data such as app launches and taps, and technical diagnostics such as crash, performance, and energy data. Google may use this data for advertising and analytics, including to link it with data from other companies' apps for personalised advertising. This is described in Google's privacy policy.
When advertisements are first shown, iOS will ask whether you allow the app to track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, your device's advertising identifier may be shared with Google to personalise advertisements. If you decline, advertisements are still shown, but are not personalised using that identifier. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, then Tracking.
In regions where consent is required, the app shows a consent form before serving personalised advertisements. You can change your choice at any time from the Privacy Options entry in the app's Settings.
The app offers an optional one-time purchase that unlocks additional features. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
Payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Purchase status is checked with Apple's servers so the features you have paid for can be unlocked and restored on other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
The app is fully usable without a purchase.
We do not use any analytics or crash-reporting service of our own. The Google AdMob SDK may collect crash, performance, and other diagnostic data as described under Advertising. Separately, if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iOS settings, Apple may share anonymised crash reports with us; that is controlled by Apple and by your device settings.
The app reads the magnetometer, and reads device motion in order to obtain a calibrated magnetic field reading. Sensor data is used only to display readings and to record sessions you start. It is never transmitted off your device.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
The app stores no data on our servers, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. Removing the app from your device removes everything it has stored. If you have contacted us by email and want that correspondence deleted, write to us and we will remove it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date shown at the top of this page indicates when it was last changed.
